Things are really moving now. We have given up on the idea of packing and will pay the movers to do it. It's expensive, but not really an option for us to do it ourselves. We're also going to call 800-got-junk to get rid of the things neither we, nor the new owners, want. It's a timing thing. We are not taking our bedroom set, but we can't get rid of it until we pack the stuff in the drawers. The new owners will take care of it, but we will pay.

The packers are coming next Wednesday, September 12 and will work all day. They say they will load the truck the same day. That means we will be out of here on Wednesday.

The renters have moved out and the previous owner has had the paint touched up and the house cleaned. We had to pay for that too. Boy, there are a lot of extra costs.

We have set up the utililites to be turned on in the new place and have changed our email addresses to one that is not specific to an ISP (Internet Service Provider). It is a slow process to change every place we have that address. We have ordered internet and phone and tv service, but they don't install until we are there.

We have our checking at Chase bank. That works out well. There are branches in Henderson so we can keep our accounts and just order new checks with the new address. Emptied and closed the safety deposit box.

Boy, there are a lot of little decisions. Do we take that lamp? Do we take the half-set of flatware? Should we order a TV now online or wait until we get into the house? Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Had to change the email address to a more generic one. And unsubscribe or change the address at a million websites. At least it feels like a million.

Have to remember the really last minute things. Bring a phone in case we get the line installed before the movers get there. Carry the computer equiment with us for the same reason. Pack jewelry and important papers so they are with us instead of on the truck.

It's a lot, but I can't believe how calm and happy I am.
